Bots

The term "bot" comes from the word "robot" and refers to a computer program that carries out repetitive tasks without human intervention being required. Bots are also referred to as spiders or crawlers. A well-known example of bots are the programs of search engine providers that systematically comb through web pages for hyperlinks and in this way detect all pages that are accessible to them and include them in the search engine index.
